Description:
    The open-vm-tools package has been added to rPath Linux, and other
    packages have been modified to incorporate it seamlessly.  The
    open-vm-tools kernel modules have been incorporated into a kernel
    with some functionality not useful from within VMWare removed, to
    make the kernel take less space in the image.  A vmware flavor of
    the hwdata package has been added in order to cause the vmxnet
    driver included in open-vm-tools to be loaded instead of the
    pcnet32 driver, and the open-vm-tools package itself (containing
    the user-space daemon, user-space tools, and doccumentation) has
    been added.
    
    These tools will not coincide on the same system with any VMWareTools
    packages; appliances may contain only one of the two toolsets.
    The new open-vm-tools package is better-suited for being packaged,
    and is rPath's recommendation for all VMware images.
    
    The GroupApplianceRecipe superclass provided in the
    group-appliance:source component has been updated so that cooking
    a vmware flavor of an appliance group will automatically include
    these tools.
